Juawana Hall, OD

Juawana HallOriginally from the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, Juawana Hall, O.D. is an optometrist providing comprehensive eye care for all ages as well as medical management of eye disease. Dr. Hall believes in providing the utmost in quality of care and enjoys sharing information about the newest technologies available in eye care. Her areas of special interest include pediatric eye care and contact lenses. She has extensive experience in fitting contact lenses on complicated, diseased, and post-surgical corneas. Dr. Hall is also a participant in the InfantSEE program, which provides a free comprehensive eye exam to children 6-12 months in age to determine if an infant is at risk for eye or vision disorders.

Dr. Hall received her undergraduate degree from Lee University in Cleveland, TN where she was a member of Alpha Phi Delta, the pre-medical honor society. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA where she was a member of the Student Optometric Service to Humanity and the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. She has received citations for Clinical Excellence in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision and Clinical Excellence in Low Vision. She joined Digby Eye Associates in the summer of 2005. Dr. Hall lectures to her peers within the optometric community and participates as a clinical investigator in numerous ophthalmic research projects. Dr. Hall has written several ocular health articles for professional magazines and recently she was featured in "Women in Optometry" magazine as an up and coming female in the profession. Dr. Hall regularly participates in community health fairs and vision screenings and works to educate the general public on the importance of preventative eye health care and children's vision issues.

Dr. Hall is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the Triad Optometric Society. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association Contact Lens & Cornea Section.

Dr. Hall's greatest joy comes in spending time with her husband, Matthew, and their son, Caleb. She also enjoys photography, travel, church, and sports activities. She has taken several medical mission trips - the most recent being to Ecuador in 2003, where she led 27 optometry students in providing eye care for over 3000 Ecuadorians. She is an active member in her local church, participating in various community outreach and children's programs. She is also an avid North Carolina Tarheels fan and can frequently be found at the Dean Dome watching her team play.
