Shashi Sethi, MD, FAAO
Shashi K. Sethi, M.D., a native of Delhi, India, is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist who began practice in Greensboro, NC in 1986. He attended Delhi University for his Pre-Medical and Medical Degrees. He received his ophthalmology training in England. He did his sub-specialty training in Pediatric Ophthalmology at New England Medical Center - Tuft's University at Boston, MA. He did a Fellowship in Retinal Diseases at the University of Connecticut. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology and Fellow, International College of Surgeons. He presently holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC and is involved in training of residents. He keeps up-to-date with recent advances in ophthalmology.
Dr. Sethi is a strong believer in volunteerism and has been an active member of Hamilton Lakes Lions Club in Greensboro for the past twenty years, having served as Past President and Member of the Board of Directors. He was awarded the "Melvin Jones Fellowship" from Lions International for his services. He was also instrumental in starting the NC Lions Vision Van project which now operates under NCLF, conducting vision and glaucoma screenings all over North Carolina and educates people about the prevention of blindness.
After twenty years of private practice, he joined Digby Eye Associates in August of 2007. His motto is "your attitude determines how well you do your job." He provides individual comprehensive eye care. His special interests include glaucoma, retinal diseases, neuro-ophthalmic problems and their treatment and lazy eye in children.
He enjoys spending time with family and friends. His hobbies include reading, gardening and golf. Improving his golf is the next hurdle he hopes to overcome.
