Dr. Cotter's Medical Sabbatical Update

August 7, 2007

Dear Patient,

Last year, I left Digby Eye Associates to attend a medical sabbatical in Southern California. While it was always my intention to return to North Carolina, I find I am enjoying Southern California and have decided to remain in California for the foreseeable future.

In order to provide continuity of care, I am happy to announce that Dr. Heather Skeens has joined Digby Eye Associates as a corneal specialist. Dr. Skeens is well trained in Ophthalmology and specifically in the treatment of all aspects of corneal disease and surgery, including Dye Eye treatment, LASIK, and Corneal Transplant surgery. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Kentucky, received her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine and received her specialty training at the West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology. She went on to obtain her subspecialty fellowship in corneal disease at the University of Cincinnati Eye Institute. I am extremely confident that she will provide excellent care to all of my patients.

I want to thank you for putting your trust in me as your Ophthalmologist and I hope that you will allow Dr. Skeens the opportunity to continue your care in the future.

With warmest regards,

John B. Cotter, M.D.
