What is an Optician?

Opticians interpret and accurately fill prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists for glasses and other optical devices. Opticians make recommendations to the patient based on the prescription, about which type of frame and lenses would be best for them. Our opticians pay particular attention to the style, color, and shape of the frames, as well as any special coatings and lens materials that best suit the needs of the patient. Opticians are responsible for verifying that the completed glasses are manufactured to the highest industry standards, then the glasses are fitted to the patients face. At Digby Eyewear, our opticians help all eyeglass wearers adjust to a new lifestyle with their glasses.
