What To Expect On Your First Visit

We are grateful for the confidence you have shown in choosing Digby Eye Associates to provide your eye care. Our goal is to provide you the very best care in a compassionate and caring environment. In an effort to make the best use of your time and keep your waiting to a minimum, we have forms on this web site to download that you can complete prior to coming to our office.

It is helpful to have the following items on your visit to our office:

» Your current glasses or contact lens and sunglasses

» A list of any medications you are taking

» Your insurance card

» A form of payment for your insurance co-pay

When you arrive at our office it will be necessary for the office staff to prepare a chart allowing us to document your care. This may take a few minutes. During that time we invite you to spend some time looking at the frames we have available for you. At Digby Eyewear, we take pride in the extensive selection of fashionable eyewear and the latest technology in lens for your glasses. We range from utilitarian safety glasses for the work place to haute couture designer frames to update your style. Additionally, it is easier to see how the frames look on you now, prior to having your eyes dilated. Our certified and trained staff will be happy to help you find the right look for you.

When you are taken to the examination area you will be given several tests prior to and, after seeing your doctor. We generally dilate your eyes allowing us to see the health of the back of your eyes (the retina) and the blood vessels that supply it.

At the conclusion of your exam the doctor will review all of the tests and make a recommendation for your care. We want to be certain that when you leave our office, you have a clear understanding of your eye health and your treatment options. Our doctors and staff members are prepared to spend time with you as we strive to meet that goal. Please do not leave our office if we have left you with unanswered questions.

We strive to be timely and respect your time but the nature of our practice means that there are occasions when emergencies require our immediate attention and this may disrupt our schedule. Be assured that if your care were ever of an emergent nature, you too would be cared for swiftly. We look forward to seeing you in our office and we thank you again for the confidence you have placed in us.
