Not just a new contact lens……a completely new kind of technology
Remember when you had only two technology choices in contact lenses? “Hard” lenses (rigid gas permeable) were best for sharp, clear vision, but were often irritating and uncomfortable.  Soft lenses were the most comfortable but often provided less-than-optimal vision, especially if you have astigmatism.
Now, new breakthrough technology offers the preferred choice – hybrid contact lenses - that make having to choose between vision and comfort a thing of the past.
These lenses feature a rigid gas permeable optics in the center of the lens and a soft contact lens skirt which allows for great comfort initially and throughout the day, as well as improved stabilization.  Below you will see the various designs that our office provides in the spectrum of these hybrid contact lenses.

SynergEyes A
This lens is an ideal solution for astigmatism patients that would like to be free of toric lens rotation and stable comfort.  These lenses, as all Synergeyes designs, prevent irritating debris from collecting under the lens which is common with rigid contacts.

SynergEyes Multifocal
After the age of 40, we all experience a change in the ability to focus on things up close.  We begin to hold things out to see them and you may experience eye strain.  Many patients discontinued contact lenses simply because their previous lenses no longer gave them both near and distance vision.  This lens provides vision for both with enhanced clarity compared to other bifocal or multifocal designs.

Duette
The latest addition to the SynergEyes collection.  The rigid center corrects farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism and delivers clear, high definition vision…even at night. And the soft skirt surrounding the center provides the all-day comfort of a soft lens.

ClearKone
If you have keratoconus, we invite you to learn more about your condition to determine if the SynergEyes hybrid contact lens for keratoconus may be right for you.  Keratoconus requires contact lenses specifically designed for the shape of these corneas.  If you are interested in the latest hybrid technology or if you have had difficult in lens stability or comfort with previous rigid designs, ClearKone may be the answer.  We encourage you to explore the Synergeyes website on ClearKone for additional links and information for this condition.

SynergEyes PS (Post-Surgical)
Following injury, surgery or scar tissue, often specialty contact lenses are needed to provide optimal vision in contact lenses.  This lens, along with other designs are offered at Digby Eye Associates to fit these challenging cases.

Carlsbad, CA (September 23, 2010) – SynergEyes, Inc. the developer of ClearKone® , the FDA-cleared hybrid contact lens specifically designed to treat keratoconus, has launched a new educational website, www.treatkeratoconus.com, for patients seeking information and treatment options for the eye disease keratoconus.
